It is your responsibility as a homeowner, to ensure that you have maintenance performed on your AC condenser if you want to ensure that it serves to keep you and your family comfortable for a very long time. One of the best things you can do is to thoroughly clean your condenser. We’re going to show you some of the things you need to do the cleaning.

• You need to change the filter that are in your AC unit, at least two times a year or clean the reusable filters and place them back in the unit. Remember to change all the other non-functional elements in the unit as well – you can prevent a slew of problems by simply doing that.
• If there are any weeds or bushes around the condenser, this may cause blockage to the airflow as well. Shut off the power to the AC unit at the main panel and the disconnect box. You can then go ahead and clean the outdoor condenser unit of any debris which may restrict airflow through your unit.
• Use a nut driver or screw driver to remove the access panels and the top of the unit. Carefully reach into the unit and clean the blower’s fan blades with a rag. Then, use a vacuum or scoop up debris at the bottom of the unit.
• Consult with your owner’s manual and then lubricate any oil cups and tighten the mounting bolts on the motor.
• Clean the coils in the condenser, using a hose with a spray nozzle and then use a soft brush and a vacuum to clean the coils from the outside and the inside of the unit.
